Field experiments were conducted in the Vallunden lagoon on Spitsbergen. Snow-covered first-year sea ice was artificially flooded. The flooding phase was accompanied by in-situ ice core measurements. In addition, continuous data were measured by four SAMS Enterprise Snow and Ice Mass Balance Apparatuses (SIMBAs), two radiometers, and one anemometer for a longest period between 21.03.2024-24.06.2024, covering the period before and during flooding, and the full period until the melting of the sea ice in the lagoon.

A full description of the data and experimental design has been published as data article in Data in Brief and can be found here.
